When I was young i adored Alice détective (Nancy Drew in American).
One of the first representation of Nancy Drew/Alice détéctive. This first book is dated in 1930 and has taken the name of Alice détéctive in French.

When my mother bought me books it was Philippe Daure who drew the cover but i have always prefered go to the library or in my holiday home to find some old covers. They were always mysterious and little bit frightening.
